About us
A school built around the Quran
Al Qalam Al Arabi Institute teaches the recitation, memorisation and understanding of the Quran, alongside the Arabic language and Islamic studies.
What we are here to do
Our purpose is to nurture Islamic character and conduct in line with the Quran and the Sunnah. We are a non-partisan, non-theological and politically neutral body, dedicated solely to honouring the Quran.
We began as a small platform and have grown into an established online school, teaching students across many countries from our base in Borg Al Arab, Alexandria.
Every teacher is trained at Al-Azhar, one of the oldest centres of Islamic learning in the world. Between them our teachers hold an Ijazah in the Ten Qira’at, an Ijazah in Hafs, and postgraduate degrees in Arabic and Islamic studies.
Teaching is always one to one. That is deliberate: it lets the pace follow the student, it suits adults who feel self-conscious about starting as beginners, and it lets us match each child with a teacher who fits them.
